KPV (Lysine-Proline-Valine) is a tripeptide derived from the C-terminal sequence of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It retains much of the anti-inflammatory activity of the parent molecule while representing a significantly smaller and more accessible structure for targeted research applications.
Research Applications: KPV is studied for its potent anti-inflammatory effects, particularly in models of gut inflammation and skin disorders. It acts on melanocortin receptors and intracellular inflammatory pathways to downregulate pro-inflammatory cytokines including NF-κB, IL-1β, and TNF-α. Research has shown promising results in IBD models, wound healing, and dermatological applications.
Key Research Areas:
- Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and colitis models
- Skin inflammation and wound healing
- NF-κB pathway modulation
- Cytokine suppression (IL-1β, TNF-α)
- Gut mucosal integrity and repair
For research purposes only. Not for human or veterinary use. Store lyophilized vials at -20°C. After reconstitution with BAC water, refrigerate and use within 4–6 weeks.
