Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide analogue of the N-terminal fragment of ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone), developed by the Institute of Molecular Genetics in Moscow. It was originally created to improve upon the cognitive-enhancing effects of ACTH(4-7) with greater stability and duration of action.
Research Applications: Semax is studied extensively as a nootropic and neuroprotective compound.
