Melanotan-2: Research Overview

Melanotan-2 (MT-2) is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide analogue of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It was originally developed at the University of Arizona as part of a research program exploring melanocortin receptor agonists for photoprotection — the hypothesis being that stimulating melanogenesis could reduce UV-associated skin damage. Mechanism of Action
